The Veterans Affairs Commission advises city council as to the concerns of veterans relating to transportation, housing, employment and other areas affecting veterans in the city. Make recommendations to city council of solutions to these issues and concerns. Serve as a source of information regarding resources and services available to veterans. Exercise other powers and duties as may be assigned by city council.

Board Information

The Veterans Affairs Commission meets in the Eagle Room, 4th Floor, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. Meetings may be held virtually.

- Must be an Aurora resident
- Active Duty in a Uniformed Service of the United States or serving as a traditional Guardsman/Reservist or Individual Mobilization Augmentee. Or, honorably discharged from a Uniformed Service of the United States.

"Uniformed Service of the United States" shall mean either the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service Commissioned Corps or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps.
